My Princess!

I want to brag on Abby a bit. She has
been such a big girl. For two whole nights in a row
she has slept all night long. She gets a "Honey Bunny"
for breakfast if she sleeps all night long!! A Honey Bun is
a small price to pay for peace at night.

Ethan Loves Watermelon!

Broken Lawnmower

Daddy has taught Ethan early to mow the lawn. Sometimes
their mowers need tuneups!!

This is one way to wash your hair!!

Paybacks are bad!!

Sticker Chart

I had no idea that something a simple as a sticker would tame my daughters heart. We fight with Abby every night with the whinning and the stalling to not go to bed. So with much hesitation we started talking about the sticker chart. Abby undestood if she did the things on the chart she would get a sticker and then after a week or two we would have something special for her if she did what was asked of her. I understanding rewarding a child for something she should be doing anyway is not the best option but we were exhausted with each night fighting with her. Things like brush your teeth, take a bath, are no brainers but go to bed with a happy heart or no whinning take some practice. The new one tonight is going to bed without stalling. No more asking for water or one more kiss or needing to go to the bathroom (when she has already gone). I must say that the nights are a lot less stressful. She wakes up one time a night (while Ethan now sleeps through the night Praise GOD!!) She gets a sticker for sleeping through the night but hasn't received one yet. I honestly believe she is trying. If she starts to whine, I tell her we will take away a sticker if she doesn't stop...and I usually do not hear another word from her. Those stickers are her gold. Why in the world didn't we start this a year ago?

I am excited to say that Abby is going to Anthony School this Fall. She is ready, I am not so sure I am. She is growing up so very fast!!

Easter 2009

There is simply nothing like painting/coloring/stickering eggs at mema and poppy's house.
How cute is this?

Poppy

I love that we teach important things in life...like how to make that funny noise when you pop your finger in your cheek. This is a true legacy for sure!! :)

Cody

It is absolutely impossible that Cody (my nephew) went to prom. This just means I am getting way old. He looks so good!! Pictured here are Cody and my brother Bryan. We all have so much to be proud of!

Jonas and Reese, we love you!! WE love having you over to play. There is nothing like fruit loops after dinner to hipe us up before bedtime!!

Ethan

How Ms. Linda keeps up with you durring the day I will never know. You climb on everything. I love your curiosity. I love that nothing is out of your reach and you will figure out a way to get there. For example to get on daddy's computer chair you will pull Abby's chair over and propel your self into daddy's chair. Nice...since it spins you usually make it. :) Ethan, I hope your curiosity and desire never fade. I love you.

Abby Grace

How did this happen? How did my sweet baby girl grow up so fast? Abby tonight you made a huge breakthrough. Bedtime at our house is a huge battle....until tonight. I explained what a sticker chart was to her. She understood completely that if she did the goals on the chart on a regular basis she would get to do something very special. This week it will be going to a birthday party. Tonight my baby girl went to bed with a Happy Heart and she was proud of it. I love you Abby Grace.

The final Surgery is Over

I am glad to say that Ethan's final surgery is over. He made it through both like a trooper. Let me say that he reacts to the anesthesia just like me...mad as heck when he woke up. He is not a fan of having his blood pressure taken nor having things taped to him. I finally had to beg the nurse to take both of them off. So hopefully, we can stay away from the hospitals for a while!!

The Best of the Best!!

How handsome is he?

I have come to the conclusion that we will have a scratch somewhere on one of them in each picture. They both thought it was pretty cool to ge to see the horses.

We have the same birthday!!!

Alan, I love that you never question if she can get on the horse...you just do it. Being a little afraid of horses myself, it makes me nervous to allow Abby to ride. That being said, unless you on the horse...she is not getting on!! She loves coming to your house because she knows she will get special attention from you. Thank you Alan for treating her like your own.

So here we go again...

Because I am unable to post during the day anymore, I will be posting at this website. Our world has been in a spin lately in that Ethan is not eating nor drinking that much. :( We have been on Pedialite since Saturday night and has been filling his diapers more than EVER before. We have all passed around a cold and now Abby is saying her foot hurts. When I called mom to see if I complained this much...she just laughed. That is not a good sign of things to come!

On to good things, Abby turned three and she is such a princess!!She loves to talk and argue over if the light is green or red, should we turn this way or that, and if I miss a page in a book...she doesn't forget it!! I hope to get her into school this Fall, because I know she is ready to learn new things.

Ethan has four teeth and more to come (soon because his gums look horrible). He is walking everywhere and if you ask him to give you "five" he will say tickle tickle tickle...ask Jeremy why.

I will post a few pictures later of the last few months and promise to do better at updating this blog!!

To all of my faithful readers....due to the name of this blog, I will be trying out Xanga to include Ethan. I am not sure I will switch for sure, but to make it easier for my Xanga friends, I think this might be best.

Bookmark http://www.xanga.com/phende0621 to check out. I will keep this site up until I know for sure what the plan is!

Love you guys,

Do you hear what I hear???

Ethan has been crying more and more these days. Abby has been a trooper although you can find her fake crying every now and then for attention. These days we are only using the paci for bed time and working on potty training. She is doing pretty good on both. We still have a way to go though!

My New "House"

Abby loves her new "House" given to her by her friend Rachael and Rebekah. No matter how cold we must go in almost every day and play!! Thank you!!

Fear Nothing...

Abby had a blast playing on Uncle Allan's play house. She would do whatever John Riley would do....so up she went. Up this old ladder to the playhouse she went all by herself (ok, I was very close by), down the slide (only slightly rusted) and would even pretend in the clubhouse (six feet off the ground). She fears nothing. Much like John Riley. Someone mentioned being afraid and John Riley said, there is not need to be afraid...God is always with you. I must mention that this was our first Thanksgiving without our grandmother. Grandma Johnnie would have said the same thing...in her own words. When I heard John Riley confort someone by telling them about God...I could hear Grandma Johnnie praying before the big Thanksgiving meal..praying for the souls of her family..each and every one..before it is ever lasting too late. So we were not without Grandma this year...she was there the whole time.
